Next’s impressive splash in Sussex.
Recently I joined other bloggers and
magazine editors at the launch of Next’s new flagship store in Shoreham,
Sussex.
The way it was organised right from the beginning should have been an indicator of how things were going to turn out. Next staff together with the PR Company organised one of the best events I’ve ever attended. From train tickets to coffee choices and lunch it all worked like a well oiled machine.

At the shop I was astounded to see how well laid out it was with even the smallest detail taken into account. Next’s staff are amazing; their training programme must be so well thought through and delivered. I was there again last Sunday and the response I got when questioning some of the staff was simply fantastic. Customer service has been taken to a much higher level. Going to Next in Shoreham is a great shopping experience.
Prices are extremely competitive with other
shops if not at times cheaper. I do not have green fingers but luckily am
married to someone that is and so we spend a lot of money on flowers; the
plants were of high quality and the Christmas trees were just the most
beautiful I have ever seen – I had to touch them to make sure they were real.
But that is not all, Next is now selling
kitchens, bathrooms, tiles, wallpaper, paint, furniture and so on. Yes you can
kit your whole house just from one store, it reminds me of the US and Canada.
I am truly impressed with the store and mostly
with the staff at the front as well as the so called back office for putting
together such a lovely event.

Home project: a novel way to store your jewellery.
For a while I have been looking for somewhere
to store my jewellery. The women readers among you will know how frustrating it
is when your prized necklaces, bracelets and bangles get all tangled up. No matter where I’d looked I just haven’t been
able to find the right thing. So with that in mind I thought I needed to take
matters in my own hands and DO IT MYSELF (no need for cringing, please).
So here is what I assembled:
·
Two frames
·
Chicken wire
·
Pliers or scissors
·
Stapler
And this is what I did:
One of the frames I liked had a picture so I proceeded to remove it
and the glass.
I cut the wire to measure.
Then I stapled the wire in the back of the frame.
And voilà!
I now can display my jewellery (well nearly all of it, I might just
get another frame) and makes it so much easier to find the right accessory. Yes
I know... you are thinking I am vain!
Is this a good idea for a Christmas present or not?
